- UNICEF has now issued a Request for Proposals in order to select a supplier for the provision of Improved Bin Salman Water Netw Proj - Phase II . As with many LWSCs in Yemen, the local Water supply and Sanitation Corporation in Hadramout -coastal areas is suffering from a shortage of financial resources as a result of the conflict and economic conditions, limiting LWSC capacity to sustain and extend water and sanitation services to unserved areas. Part of UNICEF workplan in supporting the water supply network, sewage network and infrastructure is to provide technical and financial assistance to the implementing partners in the form of upgrading and construction of WASH facilities in the most conflict affected areas. In 2018, UNICEF supported execute out the first phase of extending the water network to unserved areas in Hadramout's Ghiel Bawazeer district. This project is going to extend water net work tounserved areas in East Bin Salman to fulfill water demand and eliminate potential health risks for 12,000 people.
