• Request for proposals are invited for H2O Research Consultancy (WASH + Agriculture). Consultancy to Support Research and Learning Associated with Water Security for Domestic Use and Piloting Cost-Recovery Mechanisms in Taiz Governorate of Yemen Care International in Yemen, invites applications from reputable consultancy firms for the submission of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) & Agriculture research proposals. Posted on 20 Jan, 2022 Closing on 02 Feb, 2022 Interested firms must include the following in their proposals: · Valid Registration card and tax card. · Work Experience in the same field with international NGOs or others. · Proposals costs should be in dollars and payment will be in dollars. · The consultant should have the required capacity and expertise (WASH & AGRICULTURE) to conduct the required assignment as indicated in the Terms of reference (ToR). · Mandatory: The consultant should submit two technical and financial proposals for both researches, otherwise, they will be excluded from the competition. · Any proposal that doesn-t meet the requirements above will not be considered and will be cancelled. · CARE International Yemen is not involved in issuing any permits for field visits, firms are responsible for the acquisition of permits and should notify CARE International Yemen once received from the authorities. · Deadline for submitting proposals is on Wednesday 02/02/2022. Project and Consultancy Overview: Project: Addressing WASH Services in Yemen (or ‘H2O Yemen-), USAID, 2018 - 2022 was developed following 2018 Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) and 2013-2018 USAID Water and Development Strategy, this project will restore vulnerable populations- access to water/sanitation services through the rehabilitation of water/sanitation systems and the provision of spare parts, construction of household (HH) latrines and provision of essential WASH items, and hygiene promotion initiatives in Taiz Governorate. Capacity-building will be provided to public/private service providers and Community Water Committees (CWCs) to restore water/sanitation service provision and build their operations and maintenance (O&M) capacities. Research, pilot-testing and investments will be done on rural groundwater conservation, rainwater harvesting/storage, and costrecovery initiatives will be supported to increase knowledge and resilience based on efficient use of water in agriculture. This consultancy is developed to conduct research and learning associated with water security for domestic use in Taiz governorate - Al Misrakh district. H2O Yemen Goal: To increase sustainable access to safe and adequate water supply and sanitation services to 514,476 conflict-affected vulnerable Yemenis in rural and urban areas. H2O Yemen Area of Consultancy One district of Taiz Governorate (Al Misrakh District) Goal and Objectives of the Consultancy: To support Strategic Objective 3 (SO3) of H2O Yemen: Research and pilot-testing of innovative methodologies and technologies, promote sustainable and adequate WASH services.
